Timber Update is proud to announce Lynn Hooven as the 2014 Forester of the Year. We award the Forester of the Year award to foresters who go above and beyond the call of duty.
This award honors the beads of sweat it cost to double-cruise the timber, the morning coffees offered to win the trust of a logging crew, and the patience required to wait for a stand to grow, just a little taller. Thank you, Lynn Hooven, for doing your part to make the world a shade greener.
Timber Update strives to support the work of foresters across the industry. Whether they practice independently or as part of a large timber organization, these men and women are responsible for our nation’s vast resources of timberland.
Did you know that there are more trees in Georgia today than there were 100 years ago? Without foresters, America would not have paper for art projects, wood for tree houses or forests for hiking. Hardworking foresters balance our nation’s wood material needs for today while considering the future. Through their efforts, we are assured that the things we need to build a better tomorrow are growing today.
